December 18, 2009, Newsletter Issue #1: National Geographic Adventure Magazine Calling it Quits

Tip of the Week

After 10 years, National Geographic has announced they will no longer publish their National Geographic Adventure magazine. The current December/January issue that is already on the stands will be the last one published.

The magazine attempted to fight dwindling revenue by cutting the number of pages printed, and decreasing the frequency of issues. After an unsuccessful attempt to sell the magazine, they decided to quit publishing the magazine.

National Geographic Adventure will still be available online, with books, and plans to produce an issue twice a year focusing on subjects like adventure travel, and adventurer of the year.
